Reimis Smith had a very impressive 2015 season competing in the U20s with the Parramatta Eels. A fast, natural finisher and strong defender, he finished the season with a whopping 15 tries, 201 all runs, 2200 all running metres, 17 lines breaks, eight hit-ups, and 147 tackles.
After Smith’s standout year, he was signed by the Canterbury Bulldogs for the 2016 season. As a member of the full-time squad, Smith represented the Bulldogs at the NRL pre-season showpiece, the Auckland Nines. There is a lot of excitement surrounding Smith and his rugby league potential. Identified early as an elite talent, he has represented NSW at Under 16 level and has already been part of junior NSW Emerging Blues Camps.
On the 29th of May, 2016, Reimis made his NRL debut against the Canberra Raiders in Round 12. He was notified that morning he was going to play and had to drive all the way from Sydney to Canberra to get to his match. In the game, Reimis scored a try on the first touch of the football in an NRL game, later on going to score another one and finishing with two tries in his NRL debut. The Bulldogs ended up losing the match to the Raiders 32-20, but ended up with a high flying spirit coming out the his miraculous game.
Reimis is also the son of Sportsplayer Management’s founder and former New Zealand international Tyran Smith, who played professional rugby league from 1992 to 2005.
Reimis is currently apart of the Bulldogs 2018 NRL Squad and is very keen to play consistent NRL football.
